Week one 4/4/2011 How to face setbacks? this question always confuse me. everyone will meet setback. some people can pass it, but some people corrupt. we should have a good mentality to endeavoring even we might fail, but we can say we did. there is a most important thing that is if you can do the first step. recently,I have faced setback. every thing come to my life. i feel sad and tried. how to change my life and fix those problem? there only one way is making a plan and following it. First thing is changing my mentality. a good mentality will let people hard work. Second, I need to give up my own problems. when I finish all those things, I will become better. 4/5/2011 communication is a significant part of computers. For example, e-mail, it has become an indispensability part of people’s daily life. Everyone use the e-mail to send information. In company, when people need to forward some important documents, they must use email. No one will choose to send letters. I also check my E-mail 10 to 20 times each day because I am a college student and I need to check the homework every day. Another example is Facebook, I think no one can deny it because it let you live become simpler. When people want to see their friend of the latest news or photographs, just opening Facebook they will find everything which they want to know. 4/8/2011 Every big city has meet a important problem : traffic jams. Like my hometown Beijing, everyday people need spend a lone time on the road. why does this happen? For example, in my home side, there have a secondary school and a primary school. When students go to class and after class go home, it must cause congestion. Especially primary schools, because parents worried about their children's safety, they pick and send their children by car every day. I never forgot one day that I drove my car to meet my friend. Unfortunately, I met students finish class to go home. Many parents came here to take their children that caused the transportation completely paralyzed. The crazier thing was that I just leave my house 5 meters and stayed there half hour. 4/9/2011 Recently, Libya has been fighting and other countries. That cause many people lost their family. The mian reason cause this war is that most poor people want to get better life. However, giving people a better life environment is a important thing for ocial stability. I think the best way to giving people a better is to teach them how to achieve is. Therefore, the school is an adopting place. A successful example is South Africa, Nelson Mandela published the first policy that is to establish schools. Ten or five years later, South Africa did not have war because everyone had studied in school. People could earn money by using their knowledge. Every one has a good job, and every family become very harmonious.

When students are studying in college, they will often face stress such as they need to study very hard, read a lot of homework, and get high exam scores. when beginning my first academic class, I met a lot of questions. Because of language problems and a lot of homework, everyday I need spend long time to study. That causes me feeling stress. 4/13/2011 Google teach me a new way to search information. Every time when I get some problem, I just open Google and enter the information and then press enter. A lot of information will come into my monitor. My teacher always say that we are very lucky because we live in the computer era. When he needed to search information for him paper, he only go to the library and spent a lot of time for finding books. Then he held a pile of books to his dorm and cost an abundant of time to read those books. However, I just need to open Google that will help me get all information. 4/15/2011 on-line shopping also become very popular by using computer. every time when I want to buy something, I must choose the on-line shopping because I can stay my homeand some shopping will save the money. It will send it to you in three days. Furthermore, we do not need to go bookstore because we also have Barnes & Noble in the internet. Week Three 4/20/2011 Acording to “Mobile phones and health”, Yanar (2009) reported that people often using mobile phones will get many diseases. First, Yanar (2009) said Khurana’s research shows mobile phones are harmful for people’s health. Also, Hardell shows that often using the mobile phone will have more chance to get brain cancer; however, some critics disagree with his points. Finally Khurana agrees with Hardell’s point. He thinks people often using mobile phone will increase the rates of brain cancer. 4/21/2011 Alkayat (2009) reported that people use mobile phone one hour a day. After ten years, they will have more rates to get brain cancer. That means using mobile phone is harmful for people’s health. However, this is just a reason for people getting brain cancer so some other researchers do not believe that mobile phone and people’s health have a connection.Although many people do not believe Alkayat (2009)’s point and think that there are a lot of reasons to cause cancer. In Africa, because of the war, a lot of people become homeless. Therefore, international aid can help those people rebuild their home. With the development of human civilization, mails have been using for people exchanging information. However, in recent 20 years, the regular mails have being replaced by emails. Some people think the mails is better, but others consent emails is great. In my opinion, although snail mails have been using for a long time, emails will become an indispensability part of people’s daily life because emails are more convenientfor people lives, much less for cost, and not to worry about using environmental restrictions.

emails are more convenient than snail mails for people lives. Unlike snail mails, people can stay home to communicate with their friends by using computer. For example, when people need to send letter to their friends or family members, they have to find a post office. On the contrary, if using email, people can listen to music and drink coffee when they are talking with friends. In addition, emails are the best ways to transfer resources. In the 1900s, people need to mail a book or a document. They only could use snail mail. If they wanted to mail a lot of books or documents, the snail mail may not accept them because they were too heavy; however, now people just copy a PDF resource and use email to transfer to their friend.

compared with surface mails, email’s cost is much less. The first thing is time. Traditional mails system will spend a long time for delivery, especially the delivery between countries. For example, posting a letter from the United States to china will spend seven days. However, emails only need few minutes. Like me, I am studying the United States, and my girlfriend stay in China. I always use email talking with her because using email like that we are talking each other face to face. Moreover, snail mails need to cost some money. On the contrary, emails never need it. People just register a mail accounts, and then they can begin an email lives.

people using emails do not to consider using environmental restrictions such as weather and need people to deliver. First, weather is most important thing for causing delivery delayed. Most mail company need traffic tools such as aircraft or truck to transport package. When they meet some strong natural disasters, the delivery must be delayed. On the other hand, emails never need to consider those issues. Second, snail mails need people to deliver the package, but emails do not. For example, like some villages in the mountain or poor countries, snail mails must need people to deliver the letter or package. If the postman is sick, the mail also will be delayed.
